Onyx is positioning itself to leverage the existing operator agent network and grow the agent network into the underserved rural Zambia, to finance their float requirements which operators and banks are currently not willing to finance. The lack of finance of the agent network, create gaps in the supply of both cash and float to aid seamless operations of mobile money and increase in the penetration of the mobile money product. The lack of float and cash is even more widespread in the peri-urban and rural areas of Zambia. Onyx is seeking Investors to collaborate with as we try to drive Mobile Money, Devices and Solar home System Penetration in Zambia. In addition to conventional mobile money penetration through the growth of agent network and the financing thereof, Onyx believes there is unexploited opportunities in the mobile money, insurance and Digital Space. One of the areas of opportunity is the integration of mobile money, financial inclusion and insurance with banking platform where agents can go and access float and cash outside banking hours using Bank automated Teller machines (ATMs) when required to ensure a 24/7 liquidity and float availability to cater to the needs of customers. Onyx believes we can drive innovation in this regard and develop a revenue share model with the operators (MNO’s).
